Birthday Girl

So this morning, I had several things to do but didn't feel like doing any of them.  My scrap room was calling me.  I tried to ignore it, but to no avail.  I had several kits calling my name, just waiting for me to create with their scrappy goodness.  I gave in, and decided on my add-on kit from Paper Bakery Kit Club.  It had a lot of October Afternoon papers and I LOVE October Afternoon. I paired it with some pics from my daughter's birthday.  Other than being a little dark, I loved the way the pics came out. They are from my daughter's 20th birthday dinner.  We went out for sushi, her favorite.
Those of you who know me, know that I almost always scraplift.  I cut out or save digitally layouts that I like and scraplift them later.  I always add my own flair to it, but I find it a very helpful way to start my projects.  I love the way this project turned out and it took me only about an hour. Enjoy!

New Beginnings

I was shopping in Archiver's the other day while Brandi was in town (surprise, surprise) and stumbled upon the new Saturdays line from Little Yellow Bicycle.  I fell in love with it. I wanted all of it!  I knew all the perfect little coordinating embellishments would make a great mini, so I snatched them all up.  While Brandi was visiting, I showed her how to make a paper bag album (easy peasy) and started decorating mine with this line.  I wasn't sure yet which pictures I wanted to use in my mini, so I abandoned the project for now.
Now today is one of my favorite kinds of days.  No appointments, no nothing.  So aside from doing laundry and cleaning up the house a little, I decided to scrap a little.  You know me too well! :)
Well, my new Saturdays line was still there in my scraproom, in the Archiver's bag.  Practically begging me to play with it!
I had noticed the Sketch Challenge on LYB's blog yesterday, so I decided to do that.  This is what I came up with.  Hope you like it!  Have a great weekend.
Enjoy!

Inside Smash album

My first couple of pages.  Super excited to work on this tomorrow with Joy!
Enjoy!

Cruise Smash Album

Cover.  I used a bound journal from target and cut off the covers then used white cardstock and my zutter.  I love that the quote on the cover is so perfect.  I'm super excited about doing this album.
Enjoy!

Road Trip!

Not sure how many of you know this, but I'm on a retreat this weekend. (Surprise, Surprise)!  Well, I was bored with the pictures I had so I decided to make a mini album.  I have seen and read about these toilet paper roll minis, so I decided to give it a whirl.  I decided to use my Basic Grey Wander collection.
Hopefully, Jim and I will be taking a road trip soon to Savannah.  I made this album in anticipation of our trip.  Whaddya think?

Enjoy!

His Dog

So, I was looking through my pics when I got Sweet Peach's June kit and this picture popped out at me.  I thought the colors matched perfectly.  I love this picture of Anthony and Queso, one of our pugs.  Anthony looks so young and cute (now he's a gangly, almost 15 year old).  The Basic Grey Lauderdale paper is so colorful and summery.  I used the SPCS June sketch, and the result is this simple but adorable layout.

Enjoy!

Some old, Some new

Hi guys!  I don't know about you, but I am SO excited that school is out.  Now we can enjoy life at a slower pace for a few months.  I love the summer.  I would love it even more if it stayed below 90 degrees here in hotlanta, but we can't have it all, I guess!
One of my main goals for the summer (and beyond) is to scrapbook on a very regular basis.  Those of you who know me are saying to themselves, "Duh, you already do that!"  Well, I mean like DAILY!
Scrapbooking is my passion, my outlet, a way to express myself creatively, my vehicle to spending oodles of time with great friends, and oh yeah, important for documenting the big and little moments of my family's life.  Anyway, here are some old and new pages.  More coming tomorrow!
Enjoy!

The Halls.  I <3 them. Sweet Peach Kit

Sweet Peach again.  And my amazing athlete son.

Yikes, another Sweet Peach.  I love their Kits.  Can you tell?  I also love these girls. :)

This one has some paper from Sweet Peach also.  My cute granny with her headphones for the TV.  She was pretty deaf near the end.  I miss her.

Basic Grey's Life of the Party.  Perfect for Anthony's 14th birthday, don't you think?

Sweet Peach December kit.  Also my two adorable kiddos.  This was our Christmas Card picture last year.

Sassafrass Paper line, and my beautiful baby girl.

Not the greatest layout, but I love the pic and the story :)

Love this one!  This is really what they do nearly every day of the school year (weather willing).

Another Sweet Peach Kit :)  Wasn't she an adorable ampire?

Sweet Peach Yet again.  For a couple of months in 7th grade, Laura rocked the Side Pony.  What do you think?
